Attribute names need to be standardized.

For example there needs to be standard attributes for:

indicate daily or yearly data
the definition of the season, eg summer Nov-Mar
grid definition and projection
calendar
code version
input and output dataset file names
mask file name
an indication that the year of a summer is the year it starts in
the period of the entire dataset
