Due to the way the importer works, all import parameters are lost once initially imported.
This means we cannot check the specified stage interpolation mode, and more, after the initial load...
This is a broader problem and seemed to me to be a limitation of the current alembic and mesh sequence cache modifier workflow.
Even the alembic import seems to suffer this limitation too.
