Trademark issue #7

The name OpenSwitchMap can be easily confused with the registered trademark "OpenStreetMap" and people used with similar trademarks might think that this project is a map about electric or electronic devices (switch) or railway infrastructure (called "point" in British English). Therefore, I would like to remind you that your usage of the name OpenSwitchMap is in conflict with the OpenStreetMap Foundation Trademark Policy. I kindly ask you to reconsider using a better name, e.g. MapSwitcher.

I don't stick to the current name "OpenSwitchMaps". I will change it if there's some problems.

There are already extensions named "Map switcher" in Chrome and Firefox. Then, OpenMapSwitcher?

BTW I didn't notice OpenSwitchMap sounds like a railway infra map. That's would be true.

OpenMapSwitcher would have the same issue.

MapSwitcher in FireFox is the port of your extension to FireFox, it wouldn't be an issue.

MapSelector maybe? As you have to select to which map you switch.

Completely different: MapAware, GeoAware, GeoSwitcher?

matkoniecz commented 5 years ago

MapSwitcher, MapSelector work well.

MapAware, GeoAware, GeoSwitcher seem worse at hinting what it is supposed to do.

tankaru commented 5 years ago

It seems there are many MapSelector already.

MapJumper exists already as an extension.

MapHopper? Sounds like GraphHopper

MapLeaper?

I think this claim is without merit.
