Heyy Bhavya. Just curious how you found me?? Anyways I'll try to answer your questions best to my experience.
Overall the academic experience is okay. You'll like some courses, some courses you'll just want to pass and be done with. There is some mismanagement on the part of administration but it won't really affect you normally (but I guess that happens in all govt colleges to some extent). Some professors are chill, others you need to stay clear off.
The campus itself is pretty big, classes are 90% air conditioned. There is good sports infra. It is a bit on the outskirts of the city but you get used to it.
The best part I'd say is the hostel life and the friends you make. We got single rooms from the first year itself but you might have to wait till the second year. The washrooms are common but there is an unsaid rule to keep it clean. Rules in the hostel are pretty chill, no room checking or anything of that sort. You can sneak in heavy appliances like heaters and inductions (also alcohol if you're into that).
Even the in time for the campus premises is 10:30 but you can get a gate pass without anybody's permission to stay out later.
A bit about the city. There's not much to do here. Visit a few places like the fort and the palace. There are good restaurant and clubs in the city centre. The weather is on the extreme side. Above 45 during peak summers and goes as down as 5 during winters.
The 5 year course gives you an opportunity to sort your shit out career wise even if you haven't by the end of second year. But I guess 4 years is better if you're putting in effort since the start.
Various degree of "interactions" with the seniors is common but by the time the first year ends you become very friendly with them. There are seniors to help you out in all sorts of needs and troubles.
It is on par with IIIT Delhi but if want to go for the NIT tag or maybe a specific city then it would be up to you. Overall I'd say it's a good opportunity, pretty sure you've worked hard for it. Feel free to ask any other questions.

Hello Tanmay, Based on my JEE Mains score I can get admission to CSE and MnC programs at IIIT-Gwalior. As you are studying in the final year in the same college, can you please provide honest feedback of the college ? (Professors, Coding culture, Research Opportunities, Cultural events, Hostel facilities etc.)
My preference is to go for MnC vs. CS. Is that ok ?
I am also getting admission into non-CS branches in top NITs and IIIT-Delhi. Any suggestion regarding that ?
Your feedback can help me take informed decision. As there was no other way to reach you, I am trying to reach out to you here.
Thank you

Thank you Tanmay for the quick and elaborate reply.
First let me satisfy your curiosity. I found your Linked profile and Github account from the college website. As LinkedIn doesn't allow private messages until you become a premium member, I thought about writing to you on Github.
BTW, I am seeking admission for my son. My personal email ID is bhavya11@gmail.com. Please do share your email address if you are ok with it. I may reach out to you, if my son or I have any questions regarding IIIT Gwalior.
Does IIIT Gwalior have ragging culture ? I sense that from your statement "various degrees of interactions with seniors...." :)
I hope Maths & Computing also has good faculties, just like CS.
Thank you Bhavya Shah
