The ideal state is to replace mspaint completely.
The primary use case for MS Paint is basic picture editions, addendum, and simple edits. PhotoDemon is focused more of photography, filters, in the vein of PhotoShop albeit lighter, faster, and cleaner.
Also, programs already doing the MS Paint thing include PicPick (probably the closest), PhotoScape, and PhotoFiltre. Not sure PhotoDemon would open any doors by following these programs in terms of functionality.
I mean add arrow indicator and markup function, as shown in Figure.
Again, ShareX, Greenshot, PicPick, and at least 5 other programs already have an amazing amount of functionality around this. I'm not sure it's a useful addition to PhotoDemon, but that remains just an opinion.
Hi @FreeVB. Sorry that it has taken me so long to reply. My wife gave birth last week, and I have been preoccupied with family duties. It may be a few weeks still before I return to regular work on PhotoDemon.
A high-quality Shape Tool has been on my to-do list for a long time. It is a complicated addition because PhotoDemon primarily focuses on raster features, but shapes are a vector feature. It actually bears a lot of similarity to a Text Tool (which also uses a vector engine).
I will examine the latest MS Paint builds and see if they contain any other features that may be useful in PhotoDemon. Thank you for these suggestions.
Hi Tannerhelland, Congratulations, my wife is about to be born. I will do a good translation of Chinese as soon as the new version is released.
New Chinese language file.
Add arrow indicator would be great idea.
Daily High frequency function use Mspaint + Excel to finish task.
It is recommended that mspaint functions be added, such as scribing, marking, and various shapes.
