Better support for station-based transit lines #3

Metro lines could be named after the roads the stations are on, but that doesn't seem very realistic. What do real cities do? Colors (Boston, Chicago, LA, DC), letters (NYC, SF), numbers (Paris), endpoints (BART), landmarks (London?).

Maybe we could assign names to stations, based on district or cross street.
