as reported by TS, it is easy to mistakenly look at an old calendar, a problem that will compound with time. Instead, make only new calendars visible except with a deliberate user choice.

The feature should look like this:

By default, old calendars (end date past current date) should be "hidden".
A checkbox under 'calendar to show' that says 'show old calendars'
When checkbox clicked, old calendars are loaded.
