What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. svn checkout http://leptonica.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ leptonica-read-only
2. notice empty directory leptonica-read-only
3. go to http://code.google.com/p/leptonica/source/browse/ notice empty repo

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
code in the repo that compiles

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

It is empty by design.

You can download the code and build it locally.
