I'm using RemoteDroid on my Galaxy S with swype and the backspace button is
doing nothing... Can't delete text. The Server is running on Windows 7 64bit.

I havnet seen this in my experience, Ttis could be a network quality issue,
RemoteDroid uses UDP i believe which can 'loose' packets in low quality
networks. If you are closer to your wireless router and still experience the
problem then it may be a larger issue. If the problem persists hopefully there
can be a TCP option for key presses later on, still sending mouse events as UDP
because of the quicker response.
Swype backspace isnt a 'real' key. Swype looks at a text boxes content only,
then if there is text it changes the contents of the text box rather than
actually sending a key press, tisk tisk. Anyway, the new swype compatibility
fixes that by making swype think there is always text and monitoring the
textbox for changes made rather than monitoring actual keys.

When do the Swype changes go live?
On latest version of both client and server, still no backspace, and swyped
words don't appear...

I figured out when the backspace key acts causes a delete...Open messages, keep
the phone in potrait mode and type a message partially, tilt the phone to
landscape...now the first time you press backspace it takes you to delete by
selection screen...this does not happen if we start the message in landscape
mode (only when we start in potrait and then switch to landscape). Its
happening in my HTC Incredible S too
