I think we could compartmentalize the /docs with different aspects of the system. We could then modify the make file to compile the *.md info pdfs

I don't know if we want PDF generation inside of the normal make process per se. We want the package to be buildable on a server that doesn't need to have pandoc (or equivalent text processing programs) installed.

Adding a secondary command is a-ok though. e.g. "make docs" or something
