Day 1 - am
To improve
(2x) bit too fast in R
(6x) too slow
I think this might be related with the slow start with the spreadsheets lesson
(3x) Less time on excel
one idea would be to actually do the Excel session as the very last thing in the course
Subsetting syntax
Having the vector that instructor is creating written somewhere, as sometimes hard to copy exactly what is being typed
Some more detail on the operations we use
Some Mac specific issues
No new info for those that already attended other courses
This is an issue that should be solved in the future when there's less redundancy between courses
Didn't go through solution of first exercise
Good
(5x) General OK comments, good explanations
(6x) Good pace
(3x) Liked messy vs tidy data lesson
Missing values
Thorough
(2x) Interactive
(2x) manipulating vectors
(2x) Like sticky note system
(2x) Like exercise time
(3x) Materials are available and detailed
Good time for exercise
Availability of instructors

Might be related to the point above: more explanation on purpose of functions
Coffee breaks a bit long
Cookie request
Good
(4x) General OK comments, good explanations
(2x) Good pace
(1x) interactive
(3x) Liked how to manipulate/mutate data
Liked pipes
Good summary of what was learnt
Lot of instructional coding & practical tasks
Learnt lots today

Too early in the morning
Good
(4x) Like plots / ggplot
(3x) Clear, step-by-step explanations
(3x) Hugo is amazing
(2x) Really useful code for data visualization
(2x) Good variation in plots covered
Good pace

Day 2 - pm
To improve
Too rushed at the end
Last part was too advanced especially with tiredness
(I assume this is referring to gather/spread and databases)
Too much detail about editing plots
Loops for plotting multiple variables
Covering the tutorial on connecting to ENSEMBL would have been useful
Explain each type of geom function more slowly
(2x) Not enough time for databases (although it was interesting)
Good
General nice comments
Thanks! Was great!
Thank you for amazing 2 day session, really helpful
Great topics
Enjoyed it, good pace, good explanation, helpful instructors, very good helpful course
Really enjoyed the course and learned a lot, great explanations, well-structured content
Very clear and concise teaching, good knowledge of basics to help build more advanced techniques
Interacting with databases very useful
(2x) Violin plots - multi-modal distributions
Different ways to present plots - boxplot on top of violin and colouring based on other variables
All of ggplot and spread and gather
(2x) Good final recommendation on resources
