Day 1 AM (starts ~11am after Matt's talk)

• General intro, setup Rproject. Show the picture at the top of this lesson to motivate them by saying they will be doing that by the end of the day!
• Intro to R
  • introduce objects, functions and subsetting with conditions

Day 1 PM

• Starting with data
  • use read_csv() from the start, skip factors and lubridate
• ggplot2 part I (new lesson)

Day 2 AM

• Manipulating data frames

Day 2 PM

• Combining datasets - use this lesson on joins and can then do this exercise
• ggplot2 part II - start from "Plotting time series data" section
  • show how to combine dplyr and ggplot operations with pipes
  • demonstrate facets
  • talk a little bit about themes
• Spreadsheet lesson (30-40 min at the end)

Day 4

This is taught by me. I'm not as sure of the timings. The lessons are modular and impossible to cover all of it in one day. I think I will try:

• AM: PCA lesson
• PM: MA plots lesson (also introduces usefulness of z-scores)
• If time allows demo heatmap because it's colourful
