2019 feedback and schedule

This issue is here for future reference.

This is what I covered in each session:

• Session 1 (4h)
  • covered the data carpentry intro and starting with data, skipping factors and straight away starting with read_csv()
  • then covered almost all of my custom ggplot2 lesson. There was really no time to cover scales in detail, but this came up later in the course
• Session 2 (3h):
  • basically covered the rest to the data carpentry materials, which included some more ggplot-ing and dplyr stuff
• Session 3 (4.5h):
  • Covered this and this parts of the materials. For the PCA, didn't cover all of it, some spilled over to last session
• Session 4 (4.5h but only really did 3.30h, plus 30min of generic comments):
  • Finished the PCA (lasted less than 1h)
  • Then did the clustering part I and part II

good

• 2x clear about difference between including things in aes() or not
• 3x clearly explained
• liked focus on data cleaning
• plots are nice and easy
• good pace
• useful keyboard shortcuts and hints and tips

• we should be learning python

Sesssion 3

• early access to videos was useful (I sent the StatQuest PCA videos in advance)
• nice to have extra materials

• sometimes hard to see the screen

• assumptions of PCA/alternatives

Session 4
