Strategies and Insights for Teaching L2 Writing Students

  1. Every student and every case is different.
  2. Proficiency in writing does not equal proficiency in speech (and vice versa).
  3. Encourage students to use their cultural knowledge and existing language skills to inform their classroom participation and to broaden resident students' global competency.
  4. Do not rely on US specific popular culture for course content and discussion points.
