I started making a Prezi here: https://prezi.com/view/bnC6DM92l9ObJ3bVvP05/
Brief History of the Project: Iteration 1.0- Describe the limitations of the first edition, using an external CMS, faltering in GitHub to opt for an "easier" platform, and the general shortcomings of Iteration 1.0. Iteration 2.0- Describe the focus on "interactivity" over traditionalism, the need to adhere fully to a dynamic, digital environment, the influx of public interactions, and the project's new social media presence. Moving Forward- Is a digital edition something that can ever really be finished? How can we ensure our projects sustain themselves and the individuals who come across them?
Successes and Failures of Current Digital Editions: What are some projects that inspired your edition? What are things you want to avoid that you've seen replicated in other projects? What does a digital edition have to do/have to be considered successful? Reference Issue #10 Needs Assessment and Landscape Scan
GitHub and the Public DH Project: Discuss what it means to do public digital humanities; how are our decisions altered by the increased access and visibility of our projects? Who matters most in a public DH project?
What does it mean to occupy developer spaces with humanities research? Is GitHub trying to invite non-developers in by implementing social media-eqsue features like comments, reactions, statuses, and gists? Is the resulting website or the actual repo the focus of the GitHub project?
Out of the Box and Up in the Clouds: Doing TS work in my undergrad using technologies as tools v. communicating with my device to help me do the work already inherent in TS. Informed by editor's commentary, Nitty Gritty: Editing an Edition with Version Control
Living to Edit and Editing to Live: What are the ethical considerations for revealing an author's writing and editing process? Is it only fair that the editor of the modern edition also everts their process as they reveal the author's? What can be learned from an editor's transmission history?
Potential Publics and Network Connections: Discuss how doing work in a public, digital environment invites in "unanticipated publics" which, ultimately, influence the methodologies of the editor. What are some advantages to using social media to promote digital projects? Reference Issue #12 Network Conversations - Federico Brega
