Big Brother Timeout #26

Open Nate204 opened 13 years ago

Big brother will cause a timeout at different times while playing on the server. I just went over an hour both times it happened, before my server stopped responding. This doesn't happen on BB 1.6.3. but only with 1.7.1. This also happened to me on Cbukkit build 531. Im now using 1.6.3 on CBukkit build 493. I used the DB type MySQL, and I tried to disable the auto clean features. I did this by supplying 0, and also 999999. It still happens. The console gives no error, it simply times out.

i'm having this same problem here. with bukkit 556 (Sqlite) the server just freezes and time out...now i'll try an older version of bbb

taylorkelly commented 13 years ago

Is it just randomly while playing, or is it after a command?

Moomasterq commented 13 years ago

After a command, but it only happens to me when i do /bb stick and click on items multiple times. But if i wait for the log to return to me its perfectly fine.

nhonho92 commented 13 years ago

here it's randomly, already tried with mysql....now i'll change the VPS

taylorkelly commented 13 years ago

Moomasterq: Yea, we're working on threading the sticks and /bb here, so hopefully that update will fix that problem.

nhonho92: If it's randomly, I'm not sure exactly what we can do. Let me know if your situation changes.

I came across this, twice.

The first time I came across BB timing out was after 24 hours of gameplay, and when activating the bbstick craftbucket essentially died. The cause may have been that the MySQL server was in the middle of what I can only describe as a scheduled task, prompting me to add disable scheduled tasks (probably a bad move but whatever).

The second time I came across this was when I (at a later point) re-enabled BB, which again when getting out the stick caused craftbukkit to become unresponsive. Although, granted I had not emptied that database from the old data after the previous incident.

None of these issues happened when using the H2SQL system. And MySQL is run on a separate server so that even under the worst conditions I can ssh into them and reboot the two (and that MySQL isn't public facing) bar the ssh port.

Anyway, I look forward to using BB with threading.

I've got the exact same issue. I'm thinking of changing to HawkEye. Problem: The server randomly freezes, but shows an error from BigBrother before the freeze.
