As an keybind option (map X=:!p something), it would be good to allow a pager (less -r ?) to be used on output, instead of the current "wait" output, that dumps the result, is not scrollable, and leaves the user at the bottom of the output, only option being "hit ENTER".
It is possible (easy) to pipe to less -r already, and it works for simple things, but that doesn't work for compound commands.
