materials instead of layers are shown if 'by layer' is preselected #12

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select 'by layer'
2. export
3. reopen plugin
4. go to materials tab

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
layers should be listed, materials are.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
Most likely problem with initial building of
materials list (doesn't check for export mode).
