Grant Officers and Advisors the abilility to see a user's full profile #186

The people running the chapter should be able to see all users' details, this is especially true for the phone # field.

Disagree with the blanket statement. Phone number sure, but their profiles tell them that certain info is only visible to admins. I'll need an actual case made for why anyone else needs anything else to be visible.

I'm inclined to agree. Is there a business reason for all details, or is the phone number field the only one that's presently pertinent?

mrealm commented 9 years ago

Perhaps all of the fields is unnecessary. I'd suggest the following:

Phone # for all (electee, active, alumni) Current Job / Employer (for alumni) T-shirt size (electee & active) -- This one can be debated but for the members of the officer corps that will be looking to procure apparel having ready access to this data will be useful. Also, to avert the "well, we give the apparel chair access" argument, who's to say that other enterprises within the chapter might not want to do event specific or theme specific apparel. (And order more than might sign up for an event in a given semester to have extras for future semesters; knowing the chapter's size distribution would help in this endeavor.)

Phone is fine, Current Job is deprecated and will be moving to a separate system. T-shirt size. Sure I'll let you see each individual's t-shirt size and you can go through...everything...individually. What you really want is an aggregate, which the functionality already exists but hasn't been worked into a view yet.

So really this is just for phone numbers

bump. If we do this (at least with phone numbers) we should give the same access to project leaders for the people that have signed up for their events. This is especially true for off campus events.
