auto-submit-stars not working within drupal 7

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install drupal 7 with jQuery Multi Settings and jQuery 1.7.2
2. Create a star input
3. Copy part of the demo page with the auto-submit-star to a new page and visit 
it.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
2 works, I see stars and can select a value.
For 3: I expected stars which when clicked resulted in an alert message. There 
were no stars. I could get stars by adding star to the class of the input but 
then they would not be clickable

What version of the plugin/jQuery are you using?

PLUGIN VERSION: 3.14
JQUERY VERSION: 1.7.2 (using jQuery Mutli Settings)

On what browser(s) or operating system?
BROWSER(S): All

Not everything, but whatever the code is that initiates the control.
