I don't think that this is strictly true, at least as an absolute statement. There's things like MuJoCo (http://www.mujoco.org/book/overview.html) that have come out and if the situation is simple enough etc etc, I would suggest changing to something along the lines of

"However, very quickly accurate modeling of physical systems can become impractical to run in real-time. ... benchmark, running that simulation fast enough to interact with most of the desired hardware would require more resources than are available."

Nice. Made a slight wording change moving the adverb:

However, accurate modelling of physical systems can very quickly
become \emph{impractical to run in realtime}.
