hey tctien342, no idea how to communicate with you other than here. Did not find you on gitter.

Do you still have your Vivo Hackbook running macOS, or did you dump it for this Dell?

I'm still using my Vivo and am still pretty happy with it (even though it does have some weak spots..)

tctien342 commented 4 years ago

@LeeBinder wow, nice to see you again! I give away my old vivo for my brother and buy this new one! This model is so good as it have two m2 nvme support and 1 sata to be upgraded, good screen quality and now i'm very happy with it, expect internal mic cant be used in mac :( ! Still have my brother near my home, will try to update it EFI soon <3

LeeBinder commented 4 years ago

how nice of you - your brother can be happy to have you :)

Congrats - the 7591 looks even more like a MacBook all silver, even keyboard buttons and screen frame, really fancy! Does it have a matte screen? I really like the one on my Vivobook, it's better than the glossy reflective one in my friend's MacBook Air.

I'm sure you'll figure out the internal mic with help from the audio codec people.

Vivobook new release: I have been figuring quite a bit out, working towards you :) ๐Ÿ‘

Greetings from southern Germany

EDIT: there is at least one admin @ tonymac who is a total a*shole control-freak...

@LeeBinder hey, I have invite u to collaborators so you can update it <3! thanks for your help

LeeBinder commented 4 years ago

Sure, I just accepted.

Do you have any idea why KernelLaptic is ENabled and SSD TRIM is DISabled in the current repo? (I have no idea if the SSD in my Vivo is a NVMe kind).

Feel free to let me know if have any objections to the other items.

LeeBinder commented 4 years ago

hey @tctien342 , the release is 99% ready, just missing the final touches in the ReadME.md with instructions for best possible compatibility with most models. I'm off for a quick vacation now and plan to update when I'm back on Thursday or Friday.

I hope you're still enjoying your Dell 7691 h'tosh ๐Ÿ‘

tctien342 commented 4 years ago

Yep, enjoying your vacation too <3

EFI v.10.0 RC2 for Asus Vivobook S15.zip (21,2 MB) :+1: :)

@tctien342 can you please do two things (my contributor privileges are not sufficient for that):

That way it's both, most relevantly descriptive AND neutrally generic.

Regarding the touchpad, your brother and/ or you might want to follow the first two links at [STICKY] TOUCHPAD ยป consolidated links to related issues .. :+1:

@tctien342 can you please do two things (my contributor privileges are not sufficient for that):

  • rename the repo title to "Asus Vivobook S510UA Hackintosh"
  • rename the description to either "Asus VivoBook S510UA running macOS 10.15/.14/.13" or "Asus VivoBook S510UA running macOS 10.15-10.13"

That way it's both, most relevantly descriptive AND neutrally generic.

hey @tctien342 . I am about to upload the final version v.10.0 as a release, but before that I want to upload your v.9 version to the release page. It's much trickier with GitHub's versioning tracking system than I thought, so as to not have a mix of v.9 and v.10 on the release page, the repo might temporarily be blank. Just that you know and in case you get some notification :)

LeeBinder commented 4 years ago

all done, see https://github.com/tctien342/Asus-Vivobook-S510UA-Hackintosh :)

on https://github.com/tctien342/Asus-Vivobook-S510UA-Hackintosh/releases there is a ghost release on the bottom which I can NOT delete. Can you?

LeeBinder commented 3 years ago

hey @tctien342 I hope you're still around & kicking and are happy with your Dell.

It's been feeling odd to be using/ sharing your github repo for so long with you not even possessing a VivoBook anymore, so I moved the repo over to my GitHub corner. I'm positive you're OK with that?

See what I wrote: https://github.com/tctien342/Asus-Vivobook-S510UA-Hackintosh/

Needless to say you can edit and change any wording.

I'd also go ahead and close any issue with the remark to download the most recent release and only open a new issue on my wall, if needed.

Let me know if all is good this way.

tctien342 commented 3 years ago

@LeeBinder is ok bro :)), I'm glad that u still maintain our legend laptop ๐Ÿ‘

LeeBinder commented 3 years ago

great. You can archive = make read-only that repo then via settings (I can't as contributor).

BTW I'll let you know in the next days how you can have a macOS mic driver for your Dell. Am too short on time right now to write more.
