I completely agree. I had planned on moving it over to the 360 account and making it public when it was finished anyway, so I'm game to go ahead and start the move now.
Awesome. In that case, can you initiate the ownership transfer? Let me know if there's anything you need from me. I suspect I need to add a permission for you to be able to do that.
Yes sir, I'll do it right now.
@achavez You were right about my lacking a permission.
@richardescobedo: Does it say which permission you need?
@achavez Admin rights.
@richardescobedo: Just added them. Let me know when you've moved it.
@achavez It says there is already a repo called election-central
, so I'm not sure if this worked.
@richardescobedo: Give it another shot. That was the fork I made to add _harp.js
. I've deleted that fork now so it should go through.
@achavez Done. Take my permissions away!
@richardescobedo: Thanks. You may need to update your git remote now that it's address has changed. From the command line, run
git remote set-url origin git@github.com:tcu360/election-central.git
in the repo directory on your machine.
Also, I'm making the repo public, unless you see a problem with that.
@achavez Sure thing -- thanks for the reminder.
And nope, that isn't a problem I only had it private because I wasn't sure if it would get off the ground. This app is actually going to be really helpful because it can serve as the basis for any kind of SGA representative database or what have you.
Feel free to think on this for a while, but I think it would make sense to move this into the tcu360 team account. Ideally, we could make the repo public, but just host it at tcu360/election-central. That would still give you credit where it's due on your Github profile page while allowing us to host the code in our account and potentially have others hack on it going forward -- or even fork it for other purposes.
If you want to move it, let me know and I'll see what we need to do to pull it in.
