Failed to work #7

Hi Tim,

Thanks for taking on this work. I've sporadically used the original service in the past.

I'm sorry to say that it failed to work. I used default settings but changed TTL to 5000 mins. I hit Encrypt and Upload and it errored with:

It is a 19 Meg file.

I went to the site https://send.vis.ee/ directly and it worked with no problems.

Cheers,

Brooke

Hello Brooke,

For clarification, Tim (@timvisee) is the maintainer of the Send server and he generously runs the send.vis.ee Send service instance, while I (Teal) am the creator and maintainer of this Thunderbird "FileLink provider for Send" add-on. See https://github.com/timvisee/send/issues/15 for more information.

I am sorry to hear it did not work for you. The issue is because your 5,000 minutes is ~3.47 days, but Tim's instance currently supports a maximum time limit of 3 days. Last time I checked the limit was 7 days, so he must have recently decreased it. Anyway, just change your time limit to 3 days (4,320 minutes) and it should work as expected.

Note that my add-on works with all Send service instances, so if you wanted to keep your 5,000 minutes, you could instead just set it to use one of the other instances. See here for a list of public Send service instances. It looks like some support up to 365 days.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
