Term metadata changes in the Minor Editorial Errata category (with notification) #131

Closed baskaufs closed 4 years ago

Section 3.2 of the TDWG Vocabulary Maintenance Specification indicates that some types of editorial errata can be corrected without a public comment period or Executive Decision, but if there is a possibility that they may impact existing implementations, the Maintenance Group should inform the community of the changes via the TDWG-CONTENT email list (Section 3.2.2).

The key criterion here is that these errors may effect existing systems.

I would construe this category to include changes to term definitions that do not change the overall meaning of the term, but that clarify the exact definition of the term, or additions to usage notes that aren't already found in some other part of the term metadata (e.g. not already a part of the notes or definition).

This issue is a placeholder for tracking proposed term changes that fall into this category.

The following proposed changes probably fall into this category and are numbered in a Google doc (with commenting enabled).

1, 6, 9, 20, 24, 28, 29, 30, 32, 35, 39, and 45

Add proposed changes 54 and 55 dealing with AC having looser value format requirements than the defining standard (see for example Issue #88)

The community will be informed of these changes via the release notes that will be announced via email and social media.
