Term metadata changes in the Substantive Editorial Errata category (review required) #132

Closed baskaufs closed 4 years ago

Section 3.2 of the TDWG Vocabulary Maintenance Specification indicates that some errors could potentially compromise the usefulness or accuracy of systems based on the vocabulary. In that situation, the Maintenance Group should initiate a public comment period and seek an Executive decision prior to initiating the change.

I would construe this category to include changes to normative parts of the documentation or term definitions that could have a significant impact on how the terms are used.

This issue is a placeholder for tracking proposed term changes that fall into this category.

The following proposed changes probably fall into this category and are numbered in a Google doc (with commenting enabled).

14, 15, 16, 17, and 18

Wording change in item 14 complete but ac:subtypes not minted; see https://github.com/tdwg/ac/issues/156. Item 15 (clean up subtypeLiteral values) was deferred until the subtype values were minted. Items 16 and 17 completed with the approval of revised dc:type and dcterms:type usage and notes rewrites. Item 18 in particular was fixed with dc:/dcterms:type revisions and in general by revising both documents containing normative content (termlist and structure documents) to conform to RFC 2119.
