@debpaul I'm interested specifically in the "curriculum brain-storm", what did you mean by that exactly?
Hi @lbrensk it's an activity similar to what we did when we gave birth to Data Carpentry. I'd like a chance to repeat that exercise -- with the community that attends Digital Data. For example: it helps researchers AND data/collection managers see that many of the tasks they face, and data issues they run into, are the same. So, it becomes a bridge-building exercise -- so that we do not solve these issues in a silo.
Essentially it involves everyone talking about what struggles (skills, knowledge, repetitive tasks) they would like to find ways to improve upon. And for those that support users, a chance for them to share what their communities struggle with repetitively. Then we can compile this information to help inform some future curriculum development...
Hi, this sounds interesting and should be added to the list of GBIF events. Do you know the exact dates and place, ideally the link?
Hi @dschigel -- The 4th Annual Digital Data Conference will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, 1-3 June 2020. Workshops (such as I am proposing) are on the last day. We can also submit sessions for June 1-2 if desired. @tdwg/curriculum folks will be excited to see GBIF interest I think.
A suggestion that we set up some opportunities at Digital Data IV to move forward. Ideas
