I believe that many folks in the Pacific region would be in favor of this term since many of those involved with GBIF and BID at this point are involved in Invasive Species work.

I think "pathway" might be confused with biochemical pathways. What about "invasiveStatus" or "occurrenceMeans" (in analogy with dwc:establishmentMeans?

The term ‘pathway’ is one that is well established in the invasive species science community (Hulme 2009 https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1111/j.1365-2664.2008.01600.x, McGeoch et al. 2016 https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s10530-015-1013-1.pdf, etc.)

And it is important to data standards, too.

Please note that in accordance with the Darwin Core RDF Guide, if this proposal is accepted, analogous terms in both the dwc: and dwciri: namespaces would be created and added to the list in section 3.7 of the RDF Guide. The metadata for the two terms would be the same except that the dwciri: analog would be noted as for use with IRIs from the controlled vocabulary and the examples provided would be IRIs, not strings. See Section 2 in the proposed controlled vocabulary for usage notes.
