How should fossil specimens be cited? The Darwin Core docs indicate Examples: "Ctenomys sociabilis (MVZ 165861)" for a specimen. Is this appropriate for a fossil specimen? If the fossil is described in a publication is it best to list the publication?
If citing a published work, shall we recommend a bibliographic format or encoding? e.g. Bibtex? or RIS?
This seems more a general Darwin Core question than a specific paleo question. Closing this thread.
What is the best practice for storing citations? Text? In what format? doi?
