From Gail K:
This year in particular, we have had a larger than normal proportion (or so it seemed to me) of abstracts submitted that were like ones for scientific papers, full of discipline-specific jargon and often statistics. Now the reasons for this could also be language barriers (copping or only slightly revising something already written to submit), but I think fundamentally, many newbies don’t quite get what TDWG is about.
Perhaps something could be added to the website near the “About Us” http://www.tdwg.org/about-tdwg/ where we collect some quotes from TDWG regulars about what TDWG means to them.
