The TCS 2 Task Group will turn TCS into a form in which it can be maintained. The new version of TCS will be a vocabulary standard like Darwin Core and Audiovisual Core and will complement these other existing TDWG standards.

Label Cultivar Epithet
Definition The epithet for the cultivar, cultivar group, grex, convar or graft chimera under the International Code for the Nomenclature of Cultivated Plants (ICNCP).
Usage notes The cultivar epithet follows a well-formed botanical name. Only include the string of the epithet. i.e. omit the single quotes around cultivar names, the word 'Group' that denotes cultivar group and the + sign used in chimeras.

dwc:cultivarName is in public review at the moment. We can borrow that if it adopts the same broad usage (i.e. including cultivar groups and grexes) as cultivarNameGroup has.
