zooming and scrolling are not clearly separate #76

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. sometimes when we just want to scroll the screen, it will resize it
2. and vice versa

What is the expected output?

only zooming or only scrolling the screen

What do you see instead?

maybe should you add a button to the toolbar to select between using mouse and scrolling, so
that scrolling could be done with only one finger (as in previous version in
view mode), the use of
two fingers would be only for zooming.

What version of the product are you using?

  0.5

Please provide any additional information below.

I'm using vnsea on ipod touch, remote computer is an intel mac mini with tiger 10.4.10. I love
using this app. You guys do a really great work.
  Sorry for my poor english...

Agreed, there is room for improvement here. It just needs to be tweaked so that
it locks into one mode or the
other depending on the initial movement of your fingers.

I was thinking of double tap to get into Zoom Mode.
Currently:
Once you move your fingers apart more then the tolerence then the Zoom MOde
kicks in.
So just keep your fingers the same distance apart to scroll.

Your ideas seem more interesting and more intuitive than just adding a button
to the toolbar as i suggested, I
finally think that it'd make the toolbar look too heavy and maybe you have
other projects for the it.

Locking the touch screen into one mode or another depending on initial finger
movement would be great if it
works, and when locked in scrolling mode, it should not show the bubble with
pourcentage of screen size.

As for double tap to switch between scroll and zoom, wouldn't it make it
confusing ? because we usually use
the tap and double tap to interact with the remote computer, like click/dble
click on icons etc...
Unless you mean using two fingers for double tap ?

Why not use the iPhone motion detection for scrolling? Tilt the phone to the
right
and vnsea scrolls to the right. Like that game for the iPhone where you're
suposed to
move an ironball around and avoid the holes. It works great in that game and I
think
it would work great for vnsea.
