There is a bug with stopping activity sessions however I am issuing this pull request as the v2 branch is getting very out of sync with this branch. Will complete bugs tomorrow night.

Tests are ok I'm not sure 419807c70809ade46be03a349469e1549ab3f428 is still needed (may have been fixed in 3f845e3d9f2bba68794cd192013e1b177031a953)
