Ability to create users/groups and they can manage its own drupal updates #54

Open asrob opened 8 years ago

As far as I know there is one "admin" user who can administer sites, can see their updates etc-etc. But, it might be useful if I (as admin) can create "A" user who can administer own sites as well. So, "A" user can see sites' updates, but if I have "B" user then (s)he can see her/his sites and their updates. Or, as "admin" I can create groups where I can add sites. (For example, Support group, X Company's sites, Z Company's sites etc-etc.)

Related issue is #20, where users or group admins can get notification about their sites status.

Hi @asrob, thanks for your interest in warden - it's great to have someone else using it :).

Yes at the moment there is only the one "admin" user to access the application. We have talked about having users and user permissions but we decided to get the basics working first :).

This is an interesting notion of having groups which users and sites could belong to which would restrict which sites can be viewed. We had always seen it as an agency using to monitor their sites. Would you like to provide access to your clients to see the status of their sites or more to inidividual developers who you are working with?

Thanks Mike

Hi @mikeddeeson,

yes, I would like to add another user (for example my brother) to see his site status and updates.

And yes again, I work for a hungarian drupal company where there are a lots of support contracts that's why we have to update those sites. I found warden few days ago but it doesn't met our requirements. (e. g. no email notifications) Therefore we use our old mmonit + drush solution but I think warden is the future.

Hi @asrob, I know it has been a long time since this was last discussed, but I have been thinking about this again.

I've been looking at adding user and group management. From this you can assign users and sites to groups so that you can manage what sites users have access to.

We have introduced email and Slack notifications over the last few years and with the release of version 2.0 this month we are place to be able provide support for other system as well as Drupal, like Wordpress and Javascript applications.

Have you been using Warden over the past few years for your agency as well as your brothers sites?

Thanks Mike
