None of the technical staff at Inkling Interactive use Spotify anymore (all of us are on Apple Music). We believe in dogfooding our software and it makes little sense for us to continue development of new features if we're not going to use them ourselves.
That being said, we will continue to provide security fixes for the time being. We were planning a big refactor of existing code to TypeScript + React and aligning with best practices for Electron apps, but found this was akin to a rewrite of the entire application. Work-in-progress code can be found at the major-refactor branch.
If you would like to own this repository, I am willing to link to a fork if you've maintained an open source project at least the size of this one before, have a genuine desire and ability to keep things up-to-date, and are willing to pay for Apple's Developer Program to continue signing the binary.
