Wants & Needs FE & BE #50

M1/ARM Macbook Dockerfile tentative fix located here: #49

Frontend Wants & Needs:

Need: Bump Dependencies (React, TS, etc..) to latest or best LTS.
Want: Pull in TeamSnap UI. Leverage our existing kitchen sink styling and possibly leverage existing components (Cards?)
Want: Add some more baseline tests for existing components to help candidates get started on testing with Jest if they desire, since it is a form of extra credit. Currently there is just an existing test to make sure the app doesn't crash.

Backend Wants & Needs:

Need: Bump Dependencies to latest or best LTS.
Need: Docker Compose and Dockerfile need a bit of work, I've gotten started on the M1 Dockerfile fix and it works for me locally but It needs some touchup as I evaluate the rest of the project. Docker Compose file has some syntactical issues.
Want: Update README to include some additional local setup and troubleshooting steps.

BE & FE Wants & Needs:

Want: Find a good way to allow candidates to issue a pull request (preferably private if possible?) So we can do reviews inside of GitHub which will allow us to leave comments on specific parts of the code and as a reference for other engineers while doing interviews.

i think that's a really cool way to hold on to submissions and get a great comparison view for evaluating the submission.
