A question about flood type. #1

Dear author, I am very interested in your work and have reproduced your work. I have noticed that the flood type can be selected as rainfall flood in the code, but it is not mentioned in the article. Have you considered continuing to develop these jobs? I am very interested in this because in fact, more floods in real life may be similar to this situation.

Hi, Thanks for reaching out!

Indeed, the code supports rainfall simulation, however, this was experimental and we experienced numerical stability issues with rainfall (e.g. heavy rainfall on a steep slope). I am unsure whether our numerical model (the shallow water equations) is the correct choice for such modeling. That being said, I intend to return to rainfall simulation at some point. I agree that more floods (in particular flash floods) can be modeled better with rainfall simulation.

Best, Niv
