PeopleTec is currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

This position is to provide engineering support to the Fixed Wing Project Office (FWPO) implementing a reconfigurable Avionics System Integration Laboratory (ASIL). Candidate will lead the development, integration, and testing of hardware and software for evaluation and certification of modifications to commercial and military tactical avionics for Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA). Candidate will support the integration of commercial and tactical military avionics hardware, test equipment, and software mission equipment components into existing aircraft configurations and future upgrades. Candidate will also represent FWPO with contracted companies pertaining to software and hardware development efforts.

Required Skills/Experience:

Experience in systems engineering, integration, and testing experience with software, hardware (commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and tactical), and telecommunications, and COMSEC equipment in a laboratory environment 
Experience developing software GUI's
Experience testing GPS satellite antennas
Experience writing technical requirements and proposals in response to RFPs
Experience writing test procedures and test analysis result documentation
Experience presenting technical demonstrations and technical briefings to senior officers
Experience with ARINC-429, and MIL-STD-1553B bus design and analysis
Experience integrating commercial flight management systems including Universal Avionics UNS-1 and Collins Aerospace (formerly Rockwell Collins) Proline-21 or Fusion
Ability to act as subject matter expert supporting FWPO's future Army M-code embedded GPS Inertial (EGI) development effort
Experience working with SPIRENT GPS constellation emulators
Experience with BFT equipment and software
Experience with LINK-16 equipment and software
Experience with FlightLab, 6-DOF, DDS, LabView
Experience with Honeywell H764-G, SOA H764-GU, or EAGLE EGIs
Experience with Trimble TA-24 GPS
Experience with APX-119 transponder
Experience with ARC-231 and ARC-210 radios
ARINC-429 and 1553B bus monitoring tools including Alta-DT and DDC
Travel: 15%
Must be a U.S. Citizen
An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering is required; Desired Majors include Aerospace, Electrical, or Telecommunications and Computers.

Physical Job Requirements:

Work in a laboratory team environment as a software/hardware system integration engineer testing and troubleshooting avionics and commercial and tactical telecommunications equipment
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Build SEMA ASIL representative cockpits based on FWPO needs while integrating COTS technology with tactical hardware and software allowing for signal level monitoring
Conduct and document ad hoc FWPO testing requirements and results
Design and testing of new software graphical user interfaces (GUI's)
GPS Magna-F satellite antenna testing
Become a subject matter expert for FW ASIL platforms and configurations in support of technical interchange meetings with FW project office
Develop technical data packages, preliminary Kit wiring, and test procedures and processes for SEMA aircraft
Review technical documentation on FW ASIL equipment
Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder interaction and feedback during system development, integration, and test
Write hardware and software requirements for an integrated ASIL environment for SEMA aircraft
Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for needed platform hardware and software requirements and maintain lab inventory via a common database
Create component and system architectures from aircraft ICDs, diagrams, and drawings for ASIL integration and configuration management
Install and troubleshoot aircraft avionics in a SIL environment
Create and track test/support requests for the FW ASIL
Work with aircraft test sets for troubleshooting and certifications
Support pre and post integration analysis for systems integration
Produce post-test analysis reports as required
Work with hardware and software vendors and suppliers to acquire needed materials and licenses to produce a common operating environment for all ASIL platforms
Work with other labs to solve FW aircraft issues as well as perform specialty testing
Create and track schedules and milestones for product delivery and testing
Develop strategies to engage with industry in demonstrations to prove open architecture principles
Support Program Manager authoring proposals in response to FWPO and PM AME Request for Proposals (RFPs)
Prepare and present technical demonstrations in laboratory or other venues
Draft and present PowerPoint technical briefings
Support Cyber Security and Risk Management Framework (RMF) technical security analysis of SEMA aircraft architectures
