Better wifi coverage #63

Right now, I have an Apple AirPort Extreme for the main router/network, one AirPort Express in the guest house, and an Time Capsule in my office. There is not any ethernet connectivty, except in the media room stand / network hub.

The main house network is fine in general. But the guest house airport doesn't get great signal back to the main AirPort Extreme, so the wifi signal is great back there is great to the express, but the connectivity to the rest of the network is flaky.

Short term, running some cat6 to the cottage would be a good start. There might be enough ports on the switch there to run it, but the next question there is just having a long cable, vs having in-wall connections.

At that point, I start thinking about moving the network gear to a closet, and having it run to the current media stand setup (since there's a bunch of devices that have ethernet there). And now that it's in the closet, I'm like, do I need a patch panel? And if I have a patch panel, I may as well get more ports throughout the house, right?

It starts escalating pretty quickly 😅

This has happened 😅 We have cat6 running everywhere, with a network closet, and access points in the main house and the cottage.
