New Crash and Problem with 1.1 Forwarder #350

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start forwarder from fresh start.
2. Play game.
3. Exit via "Wii Menu" from home button
4. Attempt to start via 1.1 forwarder. (this does not result in the bug
100% of the time)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output would be loading into the program correctly. Instead,I see
a dump screen randomly. There are lines running through all text making it
difficult to figure out the dump screen.

Following that, any attempts to run 1.1 via the forwarder results in
hanging at a black screen and being booted back into the wii channels menu.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1 on 3.2U with a 500gb no-name hard drive. I'd blame it on the drive if
it hadn't been for all previous versions working correctly.

Please provide any additional information below.
This is not 100% reproducible, but it happens enough to worry about a
possible bug.

Oops, sorry. You might want to merge this with issue 334. I thought it was
different
because it had not happened to me until I updated to 1.1.

I get the same stack dump upon crash.

1.1 forwarder is the same as 1.0 one

Well, given that fact, the error may have something to do with the method that I
installed it or the forwarder in general.

For 1.0 I was accidentally using the channel instead of the forwarder. Upon
upgrading
to 1.1, I uninstalled the "channel" and installed the "forwarder" since then,
I've
been having the problems and have reverted to going through the homebrew
channel to
launch the loader.

The crashes happen often enough tome to completely discount the forwarder as a
startup method. I'm running on 3.2U.

Thanks for the response!

I get this issue on Versions 1.1, 1.2, and 1.2a. It does sometimes load via the
forwarder, but more often than not, a code dump crash occurs.

Are there any controllers with ANY type of extension connected? (nunchuck,
guitar,
etc)? If so try loading it without those things connected. There is a 100%
reproducible bug that causes a stack dump if any extensions are connected when
attempting to load coverfloader through the forwarder

I can replicate this with out any control extensions connected. All I use to
start
the app is the wii remote, no nunchuck.
