Loading with nunchuck gives code dump #358

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load CoverFloader (from WAD forwarder but probably not the issue) with
the nunchuck plugged in. (Nintendo original and also happens with my Nyko
wireless)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Receive a code dump.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
CoverFloader v1.0 with cIOS38_Rev13.

Please provide any additional information below.
Works great with no nunchuck. Great program and I can certainly live with
unplugging the nunchuck, choosing a game and then plugging it back in when
the game loads, but just thought I would mention this in case it is
something you'd like to fix. Thanks for the great product. I plan on
upgrading to v1.1 tomorrow, but this problem wasn't mentioned in the
changelog so expect the same results.

Issue 334 (which wasn't named too well and hence I didn't notice it right away)
should probably be merged with this issue as the person was having the same
exact
problem.

I am also having this problem.
I am running cIOS 38 rev14. I am running coverfloader 1.2a and the current
forwarder
available on the front page.

Loading the forwarder with nunchuck attached results in crash with code dump.
Loading without loads into coverfloader just fine.

... or at least it was for the past couple of days until i just tried it again
now.
perhaps running it via the homebrew channel cleared something up? (although
now i'm
getting crashes when loading straight from the homebrew channel)

Upon further looking into this problem, I have found that certain WAD
Forwarders for
Coverfloader (and for other apps as well) such as ones made with WaDDer have
this
problem. You can either disconnect the nunchuck while loading CoverFloader,
then
reconnect it after it loads, or use a forwarder made by TroyTheZombie and you
will no
longer have this problem. (His seem to also be SDHC and USB compatible.)

You can find many of TroyTheZombie's WAD Forwarders at
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=157478&st=0

Since this problem is related to the forwarder and not CoverFloader itself, this
issue can likely be closed, however first we might want to replace the download
of
the WAD forwarder on this site with the one from TroyTheZombie to alleviate this
problem for new users.

I've them because the authors gave me them.

Just click here for the Coverfloader forwarder WAD:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ttweyjzjjom

I can not create WAD forwarders myself that do not have the nunchuck and SDHC
bugs.
TroyTheZombie is the only one that I have been able to find that can create
bugless
forwarders. If you have specific graphics that you want, you might want to get
ahold
of him at the site mentioned in my last post and I imagine he will make you
one, but
the link above is working very well for me without any bugs and looks decent as
well.

Sorry, thought i should add a few points. It trys to load IOS 249 and uses USB2
if
supported (I moded this originally for mplayer ce so the speedups nice). Then
it trys
USB then SD. I took out the splash screen and the abillity to use a config file
too
to keep things small and simple. I've rebuilt the official forwarder with this
and
comex's nand loader and everything works nice and smooth with no flickery images
coming up on screen too.

speed this up.
