r1023 stack dumps on all games running off HD; reverting to r1006 no issues

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Upgrade to r1023
2. Pull up covers; choose one; hit load
3. Stack Dump

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Game load instead I 
see stack dump

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
upgrade to r1023 running on 4.2u

Please provide any additional information below.
Friend attempted same upgrade (r1006 to r1023) and is getting same issue; 
he is running 4.1u

something similar was happening with 4.2u
