Kernels appearing as, 'Ubuntu [. .]' on Cinnamon #91

Closed ghost closed 6 years ago

When I install a kernel, from the 4.17 series anyway, with ukuu, it appears in Grub as, e.g.,

Ubuntu, with Linux 4.17.11-041711-generic

though I am on Linux Mint Cinnamon, and my other grub entries are of this form:

Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon, with Linux 4.17.4-041704-generic

The problem may not owe to ukuu, I suppose . . although I do see the following.

cat /etc/issue
Linux Mint 19 Tara \n \l
$  lsb_release -a

These are Ubuntu mainline kernels. It doesn't matter what distro you run it on. The kernel name will display as Ubuntu.
