Shield effects being properly attributed to healing #47

Now that shields are being fully detailed in the chat log (blood shield, divine
aegis, power word: shield, et cetera), are there any plans to get them tracked
as proper heals?

I'm not entirely sure what is causing the discrepancy but the variance in what
is tracked between stasis and WoL is pretty incredible, with a recent fight
having stasis reporting my PWS output at 68k with 86% overheal, and WoL with it
at 446k with 0% overheal, which is likely accurate.

If it will help any, I've attached the log from our last raid, where I drug my
(badly geared) priest to Valiona and Theralion. Paladin shield is probably not
reported there, as the pal was ret at that time, but the MT is a blood tank so
there will also be ample examples of blood shield.

It's just a convention difference in reporting output. Stasis reports PWS
healing as any damage absorbed as healing done, and any expired healing as
overheal. WoL may choose to report the figures differently.

Blood shield isn't reported in the logs properly, so can't be fixed as I
understand it.

Thanks much for the explanation about stasis' current behaviors. I had
initially thought that was what WoL was doing, but knowing what stasis is up to
now brings the accuracy and methodology of WoL's shield tracking into some
serious doubt.

As for blood shield, however, I ran some brief tests a bit ago with a DK tank
and the logs produced seem to be showing blood shield behaving as divine aegis
does, in terms of how it is refreshed and stacked. It also seems to be behaving
as all absorb effects do, as it 'refreshes' itself after the damage has gone
through so that parsers can track which shield absorbed. So unless I'm missing
something (which is entirely possible), it should be trackable just as divine
aegis is, since their behavior appears to be relatively identical per the way
the log shows them.

I've attached three short logfiles, one with an example of aegis' stacking,
another with one of blood shield stacking, and one with some minor dueling and
trash fighting in order to give some example of blood shield's behavior when
absorbing damage, as a brief example:

Lastly, thanks so much for looking into this stuff and keeping the project
afloat. It is such a fantastic resource!

There's no ability-specific ability when it comes to absorbs. I've honestly not
looked again at Blood Shield since recent patches as if it were fixed to work
like other abilities it should just start working straight off. I'll have a
look at these and other recent logs to see if things change though.
