Again, idk about ongebechiil but I do know that "chebechiil" is marriage while "chelbechiil" or maybe another spelling is "chelebechiil" refers to whatever money that was put in for the marriage during the cheldecheduch held after a spouse dies. So "chelbechiielel" is the same but a possessive form. Example: Ng Ngiradaob, el ochedal a Dirasils, a silkur sel keldait el mlo chelbechiil. Or: A chelbechiielel a Dirasils el mle keldait a mlora ochedal ra Ngiradaob. These days, the "chelbechiil" usually consists of US currency, toluk, and Palauan money. The US $ and toluk are divided among those who prepared the food while that Palauan money goes directly to the brother or uncle, or whoever was closest to the woman. In other words, "chelbechiil" is ALL that was put in but at a later time, that Palauan money will be referred to as "chelbechiielel a ____". Example: Tial chelebucheb el kuu cholbiungel er ngii a mle chelbechiielel a Sue el demak a silkur." (This chelebucheb that I am wearing was for the marriage of Sue that my father received/earned."

Can you translate these please?
A chelbechiielel a Dirasils el mle keldait a mlora ochedal ra Ngiradaob.
Ng Ngiradaob, el ochedal a Dirasils, a silkur sel keldait el mlo chelbechiil.
And Souang, have you heard this word before: ongebechiil?

Souang and Dachelbai, it looks like your settings do not automatically email you when a comment is posted. Can you change them so that they are please?
jlukesemiwo@gmail.com replied,
In the same order:
The money out in for the marriage of Dirasils, which was a keldait, went to her brother, Ngiradaob.
It was Ngiradaob, Dirasils's brother, who received the keldait that was put in for the marriage.
jlukesemiwo@gmail.com replied,
Whoops! Just saw a typo in the above post. The first sentence should be: The money put in for the marriage of Dirasils, which was a keldait, went to her brother, Ngriadaob.

Thanks! Fixed.

Let's try one more time for this one. Can anyone confirm the word ONGEBECHIIL and perhaps use it in a sentence as well?
