Can the word "ourakt" be turned into a perfected form (v.pf)?  Like ourektak = sickens me?  I have seen that phrase in a few songs:  "kerior a mlei me ng ourektak" or "chelebuul el mle me ng ourektak"

Jim,

I don't think ourakt can be used in that form. Secher is another word for illness, and which can be used in such form. Examples: A Jim a smecher ra tereter (has the flu) e mei ra blik meng mla osecherak. 2) Tial omeltkek ra rechad ra blik el cheroid a di kmedung e ng osecherak.

As for the lyrics you reference, I wonder if it's actually "orretak" instead of "ourektak." The former comes from "orrurt" and is often used in songs. In these lyrics, if it were "orretak" it means that the misfortune, tragedy, or bad news received unnerved the person, made them feel restless, and may have caused them to move/run from place to place, literally, perhaps to ask others if the news they received was true...

That could be, but I hear a "k" in the middle of the word.  Maybe I hear what I want to hear though.  You can listen to the two examples here:   Examples

For Dirk Oltoir, someone sent me a photo of the typed song sheet, and it said "chelebuul el mlei mengorekdak, mechelcha eak meng kekebelung"

Sorry Jim, I'd say you're probably hearing what you want to hear, as you said. :) Definitely "orretak" in both songs.

Well, my hearing has declined over the years!  I'll fix the transcriptions and translations.  Thanks for the input.
