Two things. One, does anyone know about a ghost named Dedebelngot?
Something we should add to our dictionary? Two, anyone know a lot about
this story so we can help out Evgeniya?
Thanks,

Dear colleagues and members of Palau community,
I am sorry to trouble you, but maybe you know something about this and it will be possible to clear some details. In Krämer 1929 text there are such fragment:
â€Dedebelngot, the galid spirit from Ngarameleg nearby Melekeiok, used to take off arms legs when he slept. Then, when he woke up and needed them, he called them.â€
I know that in Micronesian legends sometimes mentioned person without hands and legs who can call them and also I know that in Polynesian texts there are spirits who slept without skin, just as skeletons. It is the reason why this passage is very interesting for me. Maybe you know more about this story about Dedebelngot or other Palauan stories where there is somebody who can “call his hands and legs†or something close?
Yours sincerely, Evgeniya Korovina, Institute of Linguistics, RAS.
