In the song Tal Becheleleu el Bung, Ymesei wrote:  "me sel bo kaimono e ngii a mengemkim er a cheril" with the phrase "mengemkim er a cheril" meaning a subtle rather than open laughter, perhaps a covered laugh.  I had originally thought this should be "mengemkimd er a cheril" literally meaning the laughter is cut off (like putting your hand over your mouth as you laugh) but I see that this same spelling is in a tekinged example:  "Me a Dilmellomes a ko er a di mengemkim er a cheril e omekedo er tir el me omengur."  The phrase "kimir a cheril," defined as a small laugh or giggle, appears to be related to mengemkim.  Any other uses of this word?

Mengem kim, it’s holding back one’s laughter/ smile, smirk. Practically taken from the word mengem(kim), mengem(ikr), mengem(ngemet)….my thoughts.

It's also in Cheldecheduch er a Belau. Seems good enough for me! I'll just add it as an expression under chur
