One more word from Tal Becheleleu el Bung (quite an interesting song).  The line is:  "Sakura el beches eklil, beches a klemtengel / meng uoi chetik a kmong techang blong nglemat re ngii."  Yoichi Rengiil confirmed to me that nglemat is related to klemat (a rope for controlling sails of canoe as well as leadership or authority) and can mean tightened or loosened control over something or someone.  Based on its spelling, and looking at other similar words, I am guessing that it is a resulting state verb (v.r.s.).

If you look under nglat: it sounds like someone’s characteristic/ trait. Any thoughts, Jelga? It could mean different things when it is used with a person’s traits, personality….?

Happy to.  This is Bidruu Iechad and the Paradise Club from the 1960s.  The third verse starts at about 1:35:  Sakura el beches eklil, beches a klemtengel / meng uoi chetik a kmong techang blong nglemat re ngii.  http://www.hellaholler.com/ouchacha/mp3/126-48.mp3

I asked a couple of people and now having heard the lyrics, I'd say Yoichi is right. It makes sense in this context. This person is rather infatuated or in love with the "white flower" and so much so they're wishing no one else would have any sort of control over them.

So perhaps nglemat goes under this klemat: image

And it means 'having control (over something)'.

Aleks, could it be n.r.s.? Just seems weird to have it as v.r.s. since there is no verb. Also, isn't 'kl' generally a noun marker?
