The word mengerekord shows up in two songs. In DARLING, the singer is distraught, exclaiming "mak longela er a dukllek / el mengerekord a chiuk." In the song Desekel, composed by Adalbert Obak, the singer says "Ke mlo dibus e ngak a mong / mak melengtungl e mengebechub / e lmangel el mengerekord a chiuk." Yoichi Rengiil informed me that this word is distinct from mengerekor (v.i., (teeth) grind or gnash against each other (esp., during sleep)) and means to pull (with the phrase meaning "pulling my hair"). I don't think this is in the dictionary, unless I have misspelled it.
My father-in-law says he has heard mengerekord in a lot of old songs, and it has something to do with the way one's hair is set or styled.
mengerkord a chiuk-pulling, snagging my hair...annoyed, heartbroken.
Omekord is apposite of mengerkord.
